Lake Nona Middle School
A Community That Plays Together Stays Together!
Where can you find over 800 folks together on a gorgeous Friday night in Febru-
ary having a blast in Lake Nona? You guessed it, at the Lake Nona Middle School
on Feb. 19 attending the 3rd Annual Harlem Wizards PTSA Fundraiser Event! This
year was the best event yet with the hilarious performance of the Harlem Wizards,
but even more importantly it was a night where our Lake Nona Community came
together as one. The attendees were a combination of children, students and adults
throughout the local community enjoying a top quality, professional event right in
their own town!
Outside the gym, the PTSA hosted a Pre-Game Vendor Fair, where 19 local busi-
nesses and even the Big Cheese food truck set up booths to WOW the ticket holders
before the game. Plenty of students volunteered from the LNMS National Junior
Honor Society and Kiwanis Club who gave of their time. They helped with set-up
and clean-up at the end of the night along with the LNMS PTSA working feverishly
to have everything ready when the doors opened at 6:30 PM.
A group of talented boys from the LNMS Men’s Choir graciously sang the Nation-
al Anthem, bringing harmony and honor to their school gym to kick off the game!
The amazing Gold Sponsors, Mathnasium, Nonahood News, Spring Of Life Church,
Alemar Salon, All Star Dance, Orlando Music Productions and Lach Orthodontists
were all very excited with booths inside and smiles on their faces! All Star Dance
Company even put on an amazing halftime performance by many talented young
ladies, who surely had the crowd’s eye!
Our community is continually growing, and we were privileged to have the
teachers and staff from Lake Nona Middle, Moss Park, Eagle Creek, Sun Blaze and
Northlake Park Elementary Schools who joined together to form the “Home Team”
to take on the Harlem Wizards. We appreciate their service, and it just shows that
the educators support good fun and networking! The home team surely had a great
time playing together and getting to know each other out there on the court!
We hope you didn’t leave the night before having some of the delicious hot pop-
corn donated from Orlando Party Rentals, the yummy homemade ice cream from
Chill Lounge, a tasty sub sandwich from Larry’s Subs, and that you took with you a
memory of good friends, family time and fun in the Nonahood!
